Slate is the hardest-working natural stone tile we sell. It is split along the grain rather than sawn, which leaves the lightly textured “riven” face that gives slate its grip underfoot and its depth of colour — the reason it has been laid on South African stoeps, patios and pool surrounds for generations.
Our Northriding warehouse in Randburg stocks five slate colourways in six standard tile formats, from 200 × 200 mm up to 600 × 600 mm, so the same stone can run from a patio through to an indoor floor or up a feature wall. We also supply and install black top-nail slate roofing tiles.
