Sandstone Tiles & Pool Coping

Desert Sand sandstone tiles in three formats, with matching pool coping — warm, non-slip stone for patios, pool surrounds and paths.

Sandstone is the warm one. Its fine, sandy grain and honey-to-cream colour stay soft on the eye in bright sun, and the lightly textured surface gives grip underfoot — which is why it is laid around so many South African pools.

Our Desert Sand sandstone comes as 300 × 300, 400 × 400 and 600 × 600 mm tiles, with matching 25 mm coping in 300 × 300 and 400 × 400 mm to finish a pool edge, step or raised planter in the same stone.

Planning walls as well as floors? The same warm tones run through our Lesotho sandstone cladding, so paving, coping and walling can all be matched from one supplier.

Send us the size of your patio or pool surround on WhatsApp and we’ll quote tiles, coping, delivery and sealer together — free and without obligation.

Sandstone tiles & coping: your questions answered

What sizes do sandstone tiles come in?

Desert Sand sandstone tiles are stocked in 300 × 300, 400 × 400 and 600 × 600 mm. Matching pool coping is 25 mm thick, in 300 × 300 and 400 × 400 mm.

Is sandstone slippery when wet?

No — sandstone has a naturally fine-textured surface that gives grip when wet, which is why it is so popular for pool surrounds, patios and steps.

Does sandstone need to be sealed?

Yes. Sandstone is porous, so sealing it after installation protects against stains and water marks. Our Superseal (for slate, sandstone and paving) and Water Block (an invisible sealer for all natural stone) are both suitable — we’ll recommend one for your project.

Do you supply sandstone pool coping?

Yes. We stock Desert Sand sandstone coping, 25 mm thick, in 300 × 300 and 400 × 400 mm, to match the Desert Sand tiles.

How much do sandstone tiles cost?

We quote every job individually rather than publishing a per-metre rate that may not match your stone, size or quantity. Send us your measurements on WhatsApp and we’ll reply with a written, no-obligation quote — usually within the hour during business hours. Contractors and resellers get trade pricing.
